OUR STORY
After 30+ years in the legal field, I tried retiring in rural Minnesota.
Didn't work for me.
I started two FUN part-time jobs and also became a volunteer for community heroes (law enforcement, fire fighters, military personnel and EMTs) needing financial assistance.
It was a chaotic---yet exciting---time.
Then the world turned upside down: my husband was diagnosed with the "C" word. (I still can't say it out loud or type it)
I stepped into the most important job of my life: CAREGIVER.
After nearly a year of the roller coaster ride of his complicated treatment plan, I desperately needed a refuge. Hmmmmm... where to turn?
Solace was eventually found in becoming a ROCK HOUND.
(Yup, that's a thing)
I discovered that rocks and coral are not only beautiful, but represent permanence and strength. They will outlast my wonder for them as well as outlast the words you are reading...
and likely humankind.
Mother Nature's gems are as close as we can get to FOREVER!
Thank you God for protecting my life partner!
Thank you Mother Nature for keeping me sane!
To celebrate "C" remission, we escaped to the mountains and beaches of Puerto Rico, several Caribbean islands and the West Indies in early 2024.
I wanted to somehow share my growing collection of nature's beauties:
STOP THE WINING was born to bring nature indoors as a unique, hand-made affordable gift of functional art.
The "functional" part is the unique design of a vacuum-pump system that keeps your wine fresh, maintains its flavor integrity and extends its shelf life!
The "art" part is the visually-pleasing kitchen or bar accessory.
A conversation piece for sure!
STOP THE WINING is a Minnesota-based business specializing in natural, hand-picked and hand-crafted stones or coral transformed into a functional, affordable gift for you or someone special in your life.
Mother Nature is timeless. Gift-giving is timeless.
